Day 5 - August 20

Our last day in Colorado. We had to do a little repair work on our car topper before we loaded all the luggage. We were headed to Lily Lake near Estes Park for a picnic lunch.

Oops, sorry 'bout that...don't know how a picture of a textbook got in there...ahem.

After our picnic and walk around Lily Lake, we headed back to Estes Park and got some
t-shirts and a few other souvenirs. We left Estes Park around 5ish and drove until stopping at a hotel around 9ish. The next day we drove the rest of the way back to our respective homes. Chris and I made it back to our house about 8pm. Then I worked all day the next day and took a two hour final in the evening. I don't recommend trying that (the good news is I passed the exam and ended up with an A- in the class!).

Day 4 - August 19

Monday morning I went back to campus to help Kaley pack up her things and move out of her dorm. I got to witness a few Ellerslie-style send-offs, and then experience one when Kaley and I pulled out around 11:30am. We headed to our favorite Windsor eatery (The Egg & I) to meet the rest of our family for brunch.

After a tasty helping of comfort-foods, we headed back to the hotel and prepared for a hike up Horsetooth Rock.

The hike was a bit more challenging (and long) than I thought it would be...these flat feet aren't used to scaling the mountain heights. But we made memories as a family that we will remember for a long time. So sit back and enjoy pictures of the climb.

Don't worry, this climb had a happy ending in spite of the rattlesnakes! :)
Next up: pictures from Estes Park!
